Temperatures at Edgar Street are still below freezing this morning but it is hoped that the covers on the pitch will have kept Jack Frost at bay.
As at 10am the Met Office reported that the temperature was -2C but expected to rise to +1C this afternoon. It dropped to -5.4C overnight. (Met Office figures are taken at Credenhill just outside the City.)
Currently (11am) there is still some mist and low cloud but the sun is trying to break through.
According to the OS the plan is to take the covers off as soon as the sun is strong enough and then put them back on before sunset until just before kick-off.
The floodlights will go on around 5pm to help.
