The Bulls entertain title favourites Luton Town in a Conference match tonight at Edgar Street.
The two sides managed to miss each other as Luton plummeted out of the Football League with three successive relegations while the Bulls made their way up to League One and back down again. Only in the 1976/77 season have the two sides met in league action, with the Hatters doing the double over the Bulls without conceding a goal.
The Bulls will be without Harry Pell for the first time this season with a one match ban racked up for five yellow cards. His absence leaves only Sam Clucas and Andy Gallinagh as the only ever-presents in the Bulls squad. Forest Green loanee Phil Marsh sees out the end of his months loan spell and decisions will have to be made on his future. The Bulls can extend the deal but cannot replace him with the current transfer embargo.
Luton boss Paul Buckle says his side should not fear anyone in this league, but acknowledges that the Bulls will put up a fight. The Hatters have won four of their last five Conference games, but struggled to beat Nuneaton at the weekend and have lost heavily to both Grimsby and Alfreton on the road. Top scorer Stuart Fleetwood will likely start at Edgar Street as a visiting player for the first time since his days as a youngster at Cardiff, while former Bulls captain Janos Kovacs is also expected to be in their starting XI.
Hereford United vs Luton Town, Edgar Street, Tuesday 6th November, 7.45pm.
