News Round-Up

Barrow chairman Brian Keen has reiterated the club's need for attendances to improve. The Bluebirds have averaged just over 900 so far this term, with Keen needing 1,300 to balance the books. They came close to that figure in their last Conference match, but only after handing out 1,200 free tickets to schools. Meanwhile, the club are refusing to comment on speculation that striker Obi Anoruo has been sacked after an unspecified incident while on loan at Hinckley.

Kettering's future will be discussed by the Southern League tomorrow morning. The Poppies have had their last three matches cancelled and are expected to be unable to field a side this coming weekend. Lincoln have handed youth team striker Jordan Thomas a two year professional deal. The 17 year old became their youngest ever player last season when he debuted in the Conference.

New Swindon chairman Sir William Patey has called on the club's owners to write off the sums owed to them by the club so it can borrow more money and clear their transfer embargo. Patey says the debt 'has no real value' and wants the trio of owners to convert it into shares so the club can keep on spending. Former Bulls advisor Lennie Lawrence has been put in caretaker charge at Crystal Palace after manager Dougie Freedman left to join Bolton.
