News Round-Up

Kidderminster's ex-Bulls defender Josh Gowling has had a leg break ruled out after he was stretchered off during last night's win over Hyde. The former Lincoln man is expected to only have bruising. Woking signed Sunderland midfielder Billy Knott ahead of last night's game with the teenager, who played 20 times for Wimbledon on loan last term, debuting in last night's win over Cambridge.

Lincoln have issued a statement saying they have asked the club solicitor to examine a posting on an unofficial website that calls into question the integrity and honesty of chairman Bob Dorrian and CEO Steve Prescott. The post is believed to be on the Save The Mighty Imps blog, which also published an email from Prescott detailing the wage bill at Sincil Bank. The email suggests manager David Holdsworth, his assistant, and the club's physio are on a combined wage of £71,000.

Kettering had their game last night postponed after failing to raise a side for the match. The game at Leamington certainly wouldn't have gone ahead if it was at Nene Park with the electricity cut off. Owner Imraan Ladak is claimed on Poppynet to have told a court hearing brought about by EDF that he had only just taken over the club and debts, despite having been owner for several years.

Former Chester owner Stephen Vaughan is attempting to sign former England striker Francis Jeffers and former Liverpool keeper Tony Warner for his Maltese FC Floriana side. Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker says he is considering standing down from his role after 15 years after reducing his day to day input over the past year. He has overseen the club's rise from the part-time ranks.

Yeovil chief executive Martyn Starnes has defended the club's attendances after they posted their lowest ever League gate of 3,002 at the weekend. The game, against Colchester, was won - ending a run of six straight losses. Fans point out that the club's gates have halved in recent seasons. Braintree have signed defender Alan Massey from Wealdstone after injury ruled out Dean Wells for up to two months. Massey, 23, has made over 200 appearances for Wealdstone since being released by Wycombe as a teenager.

Mansfield player-assistant manager Adam Murray says the abuse the Stags' players are getting is 'personal and unnecessary'. In his post-match comments, manager Paul Cox hinted that behind the scenes club politics were to blame for their current on-pitch problems. Former Bulls trialist Carl Piergianni has signed for Conf North side Corby Town. The former Stockport man played in a reserve match against Port Vale a month ago.

Ryman Premier side Carshalton Athletic is the latest side to make large cuts to it's wage bill. It has released six players, and will phase out 'external funding' of it's wage bill over the next three months, relying on the 45 team youth section to provide players in the future.
