News Round-Up

Grimsby have signed winger Scott Neilson from Crawley Town for three months. The 25 year old former Bradford man cost the Red Devils a five-figure fee but missed most of the second half of last season through injury. Stockport have repaid over £185,000 to the local council after borrowing the sum earlier in the season to cover running costs. The money was loaned against a fee due from the sale of Anthony Pilkington to Huddersfield, which the Terriers have now paid.

Forest Green have signed Guiseley non-contract midfielder Stephen Brogan until the end of the season. The former Rotherham man, 24, dropped into non-league after being released by the Millers in 2011. Cambridge say they will go it alone on a new 8,000 capacity stadium after Southern League side Cambridge City and the local rugby side both withdrew from the project. The planned site is in the green belt and is not anticipated to open before 2016.

Wimbledon have parted company with manager Terry Brown and his assistant Stuart Cash. The Wombles are only one place above the League Two drop zone after a dismal start to the season. Coach Simon Bassey will take temporary charge with Brown telling the club's official site that he will watch their next match from the terraces after five years as manager.

Ebbsfleet have an injury crisis after losing two more players after last night's Kent Senior Cup win over Whitstable, in which ex-Bull Nathan Elder scored four goals. Boss Liam Daish lost Lanre Azeez and Jay Foulkes with injuries, leaving him with just two of the three defenders he wants to play their usual 3-5-2 formation. Harrogate are monitoring an injury to the eye socket of former Bulls keeper Jose Veiga after he was knocked unconscious in their match with Guiseley last night.
