Macclesfield have announced squad numbers for a total of 23 players so far, 14 of them new signings. Boss Steve King says he expects to sign at least two central defenders and a striker after most of his signings so far were midfielders. He defended the move to sign ten midfielders, in addition to those already at the club, saying he needed plenty of variation in the area.
Swindon have announced new investment of £2million from existing investors. The funds will be used to push for promotion to the Championship at the first attempt. They are also to seek new investment to push on with the long planned redevelopment of the County Ground. Portsmouth have been told they will start the coming season on -10 points by the Football League - if they can agree a sale by paying off all football creditors and agree a CVA deal with their unsecured creditors.
Grimsby have released trialist Lewis Chalmers, despite the player previously claiming he had agreed a deal to sign for the club. The agent of Kidderminster striker Jamille Matt says the player was only training with Sheff Utd to keep up his fitness level, and that it wasn't a trial despite the comments from Blades boss Danny Wilson. Harriers issued a statement yesterday afternoon saying the player remains contracted to the club and that the Blades were apologetic for the incident.
The BBC Non-League Show is moving from BBC London to 5live from August 19th. It will be broadcast in a Sunday morning 5.30am slot, with most of it's listeners downloading the podcast anyway, after being recorded on Saturday night. The show had to move due to cuts to BBC local radio. Newport player/coach Wayne Hatswell has opted to join Conf North side Brackley Town, managed by ex-Bull Jon Brady. The pair played together at Chester.

The 20 year old pair both have Conference experience in various loan spells. Alfreton have signed departed Lincoln winger Simon Russell. The 27 year old rejected new terms at Sincil Bank last month.
Woking have been dealt a blow after winger Moses Ademola rejected their new contract offer to sign for Conf South side Eastleigh instead. The Cards will be entitled to compensation for the 22 year old.
