News Round-Up


Former Bull Jennison Myrie-Williams has signed a permanent two year deal with Port Vale following his release from Stevenage. The 24 year old spent some time on loan at Vale Park last term. Macclesfield have agreed a deal to use Sandbach Community Football Centre as their training ground for the coming season. The brand new facility has just opened after being built for £2.2million with funding coming from the Football Foundation and local council.

Stockport have reported season ticket sales of over 1,600 for the coming season. They abandoned a cheap sales scheme earlier in the summer after failing to get even half the required support. Tamworth have made former Burton and Mansfield youth teamer Jamie Smith their third signing of the summer. 

Macclesfield are reported to have lost the services of midfielder Ross Draper after he agreed to join SPL side Inverness instead. The 23 year old would not earn a fee for the Silkmen with a cross-border transfer. Grimsby have agreed a deal to terminate the contract of striker Serge Makofo midway through a three year deal. The 25 year old was transfer listed just three months after joining the club, and hasn't played for the first team since December.


Wrexham have signed former Premier League striker Brett Ormerod. The former Blackpool man, 35, has signed a two year deal after choosing the Dragons over Accrington, where he started his career. The news of his signing comes after confirmation that Mathias Pogba has rejected a new deal with the club. York have signed former Bulls loanee Danny Blanchett following his release by Burton. The full back played 14 times for the Brewers last season.

Conf North side Harrogate Town say they have backed out of a move to turn full time this summer as they don't want to affect the unity amongst the current squad, with a number of the players unwilling to make the transition. Macclesfield have signed winger Charlie Henry following his release from Luton. The 25 year old former Newport man made just two sub appearances for the Hatters in 18 months with the club due to injury.

Former Bull Craig Stanley has been released from Bristol Rovers by mutual consent. Now 29, the former Morecambe man made 39 appearances for the Pirates last season. Former Bulls loanee Lewis Young has signed for Yeovil following his release from Northampton. The 22 year old started 20 games for the Cobblers last season but barely featured after Gary Johnson's dismissal.
