Fixtures for the coming Conference season are released on Monday morning.
The whole fixture process is done by Conference General Manager Dennis Strudwick. With clubs getting the chance to nominate local Premier and Football League sides whose fixtures they want to avoid, the whole process cannot start until after their fixtures have been released.
Strudwick then takes into account club submissions for their longest and shortest journeys - hoping to place the longest trips on Saturdays where there is no prospect of a cancellation due to cup fixtures, and putting the shortest journeys as the popular Bank Holiday games.
Each team also nominates their preferred Boxing Day and New Years fixtures, adds in dates when their local county cups are played, and offers up any dates their ground is unavailable (in the event of ground sharing).
Strudwick, a former Accountant and Building Society manager who has held his role with the Conference since 2007, completes the entire 1,476 match list for the three Conference divisions in two weeks from the June 18th release of the League fixtures. By hand.
