Port Vale fans are mimicking owls after responding to the announcement of the club's preferred bidder with a resounding 'Who?'
Vale's Administrator has named Keith Ryder as the man in pole position to take over the club. A statement says he is now due to deposit a non-refundable sum to secure that status and that they could hold a CVA meeting before the end of the month.
Ryder is reported to work in financial services and property development, but little is known so far about him or any details of his bid. He was unable to attend today's announcement but says he will meet fans in two weeks time to discuss the bid.
