The Bulls are now realistically in a three way dance for survival in League Two. Also stuck on 36 points are Macclesfield after they missed a penalty in losing 1-0 at Port Vale, while Barnet remain on 39 points after sacrificing a lead to go down 2-1 at home to ten man Crawley at Underhill. Bradford have a vague deathwish after their 1-0 loss at Shrewsbury saw them down to 21st on 43 points, with Plymouth above them (44pts) after beating Aldershot 1-0. Dagenham are level on 45 points with Northampton after beating Gillingham 2-1, while the Cobblers lost 1-0 at Swindon.
At the top, Swindon's win means they could secure promotion next Saturday with a ten point gap to fourth place. Torquay drew 2-2 at Oxford to hold second from Shrewsbury by a point. Crawley are fourth, two points behind, with Southend, who beat Wimbledon 2-0, fifth. Cheltenham conceded a late goal to lose 1-0 at Rotherham, while Oxford round out the play-off spots but they only have a goal difference advantage after Crewe beat Bristol Rovers 3-0.
In the Conference Kidderminster held onto a play-off spot after beating Newport 3-2 after being 2-0 down. Luton beat Hayes and Yeading 4-2 thanks to a pair of Stuart Fleetwood goals, though Janos Kovacs also put through his own net. Cambridge beat Kettering 2-0 with Harry Pell scoring the second. Forest Green beat Bath 2-0, while Darlington avoided relegation after their 5-0 loss at Lincoln only thanks to Telford's game being abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.
Meanwhile, Chester FC are up to Conference North after a 1-1 draw today saw them win the NPL Premier.
