Barnet is a Cup Final says Keyte

Hereford United chairman David Keyte has said that tomorrow's League Two match between relegation contenders Barnet and Hereford is a 'cup final'.

"Anything short of a win leaves it nigh on impossible to claw back," Keyte told the Hereford Times.

"We need to win at Barnet and probably at home to Northampton and then get what we can from our last two games at Crawley and at home to Torquay because we have not picked up the points in our last eight games that our play has warranted."

Meanwhile one of Hereford United's supporters, who seldom misses a game home or away, has come to the defence of chairman David Keyte and vice-chairman Tim Russon after comments from another supporter recently published in the HT.

Rob Powell feels it is not the time for 'negativity or criticism'.

"Hereford United have four matches left to maintain their League status and it is most important that all Bulls fans give 100 per cent support to the players, management and staff to encourage them both on and off the field."

He goes on to say that words of criticism are 'cheap and can be destructive'.

"David Keyte, Tim Russon and the other directors have put their money where their mouths are and have tried to push the club forward.

"It remains to be seen whether the efforts on the field will be successful this season but I, for one, applaud the work and commitment they have shown and will continue to support them into the future."
