O'Kelly relieved to get a Point

Newly appointed Hereford United manager Richard O'Kelly came away from his first league game at Macclesfield last night with a point but he said afterwards he was relieved to get it. The Bulls scored after 13 seconds and were 2-0 ahead at half-time but then gave that lead away.

"People look at me and say you've always got a smile on your face but I've always been a realist as well," O'Kelly told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"There were periods in the game when we were under pressure and I think probably because of the history of the season so far on the night, with the wind and the tempo with which Macclesfield played the second half, I think we did well to come out 2-2."

Meanwhile Will Evans' goal might be the fastest ever scored for the Bulls. BBC Hereford and Worcester's commentators thought it had been scored in 13 seconds, which if correct, is a second faster than the current record which is held by Peter Heritage.

His goal was scored in the game against Lincoln on September 28th 1991.

Finally, although not named for the match, both Harry Pell and Nicky Featherstone were at the game.
