Richard O'Kelly as been appointed as manager of Hereford United.
Jamie Pitman is to stay on as a coach.
O'Kelly has initially signed until the end of the season.
He has spoken to the OS.
"I'm excited to be given this chance and it's great to be back at Hereford. It's a very special football club for me and I'm determined to make sure the club starts to achieve its potential," said O'Kelly
"It's my first job as manager but what better team to start with. We've got 12 games to show and prove to people just what we can do."
Chairman David Keyte has welcomed the appointment of O'Kelly
"Everybody has been working very hard but we felt we needed something fresh to get things going," he said.
"Richard was the man we decided could do a job for Hereford United. He's got nothing to prove to this club and we think he can now prove himself as a first-team manager to the rest of football. We're thrilled to have him and we hope he'll be guiding us to the future."
Gary Peters is to remain as director of football and both Russell Hoult and Richard Sneekes are also staying with the club.
