News Round-Up

Dagenham have handed striker Josh Scott a new two year deal. The 26 year old has netted 18 times for the Daggers over the last three seasons. Aldershot have loaned defender Doug Bergqvist to Farnborough for a month. The 18 year old Swede made one sub appearance for the Shots at the end of last season.

Gillingham have signed winger Jordan Obita from Reading on a one month loan. The teenager has just finished a spell at Barnet, where he started three of the six matches he was involved in. Crawley have signed midfielder Lloyd James on loan from Colchester for an initial month. The 24 year old had been a regular in the U's side until recent weeks.

Former Port Vale bidder Mo Chaudry says he still retains an interest in buying the club, but would only do so at the right price. He will wait for an Administrator to be appointed before finding out how much of the claimed £4million debt needs to be repaid. The club's directors will stay away from this weekend's match with Accrington after Stanley's ground safety chief asked them not to after fearing violence from the travelling support. On the pitch, defender Gareth Owen is not expected to play again this season due to injury.

Southend misfit Bilel Moshni says he returned to France due to a family problem, and that he is injured anyway. He says the club allowed him to leave the country and there was nothing strange in him getting the train from Morecambe on his own. Wimbledon have signed striker Charlie Strutton on a short term deal, and immediately sent him out on loan to Maidenhead to see if the Chalfont St Peters striker can handle the step up.

Wrexham have signed former £3million Sunderland defender Stephen Wright on a short term deal. The 32 year old was released by Hartlepool in January after six injury plagued months at the club. The Dragons say they are expecting to make a profit in the second half of this season after initially projecting a £700,000 loss. A good FA Cup run and attendances running around 700 over budget mean the club is expecting to make £200,000 by the end of the season.

Southend have signed Bury keeper Cameron Belford on loan for an initial month after senior keeper Glenn Morris picked up a thigh injury. The Shrimpers only other available keeper is an untested 18 year old.
