It's not unusual that different managers have different views about different players. And Hereford United's new manager appears to be no exception.
For example in the two games that O'Kelly has been in charge of, he has given Kenny Lunt a mid-field role for the experienced player. Admittedly Jamie Pitman had recently begun to use Lunt again, but it wasn't that long ago when Lunt was put on the list as available for loan.
Director of football Gary Peters said as much at a pre-match fans forum.
"I don't like knocking any player, even players who are not in the side," said Peters on December 31st.
"Kenny is not as physical. If we have a two man mid-field with Kenny as one of them it would be very hard for us to win a physical battle."
On January 10th Peters confirmed there had been no interest from any other club in signing/loaning Lunt.
Gary Peters told fans they had received no enquiries for midfielder Kenny Lunt.
His name had been circulated for loan in December, but Peters told the assembled supporters that there had been no expressions of interest.
Yesterday O'Kelly pointed out to BBC Hereford and Worcester how Lunt fits in with the team at present.
"The likes of Kenny Lunt in midfield, the decisions he makes.
"A very intelligent footballer."
