Former Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman has said that he would not have resigned from the post but admitted that the board took the right decision to replace him with Richard O'Kelly.
"I've never been a quitter," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"I've never been someone who chucks in the towel.
"I still believe we were not a million miles away but we were not picking up the results.
"To be leading eleven times in the last fifteen games is a good stat in a way.
"But something had to change, I understood that and I'm glad Richard has come in.
"I'm a strong enough character to make sure I learn by all the mistakes I've made.
"The only time you ever learn is by your mistakes.
"I've certainly done that, and reflected over the last few weeks on some of the decisions I've made and I've learnt by them."
