Ainsworth Joins Burton

Former Bulls winger Lionel Ainsworth has joined Burton on loan for an initial month.

The 24 year old has been a surprising absentee for Shrewsbury in recent weeks, with many of their fans wondering what the pacy wide man had done wrong. He will now remain at the Pirelli Stadium for a month with his Shrews contract expiring this summer. He will not be allowed to play against the Shrews this weekend.

Ainsworth has played 74 times for the Shrews since his move from Huddersfield in 2010, scoring 11 times, but has made only one sub appearance in the last two months.

Meanwhile, Crawley claim they had a six-figure bid accepted for an unnamed League Two striker on Sunday night, only for the selling club to up the fee by £75,000 on Monday morning. The local press are suggesting it was Barnet's Izale McLeod, who was claimed to be a target yesterday.

In other news, ex-Bull John McCombe has revealed that he has had to postpone his wedding due to the financial crisis at Port Vale. The defender was due to get married this summer, but the lack of payment from the Valiants means he has had to delay his plans.
