Rob Purdie, who wore the captain's armband, scored the Hereford goal with a great shot from around twenty yards out but it wasn't enough as Swindon took all three points.
"It similar to other games," Purdie told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We matched a team that is top of the table.
"We should have probably got a second goal but gave away poor goals ourselves and so we haven't got anything out of the game."
Purdie, who played on the wing, described his goal which came on 65 minutes. Afterwards the Bulls took charge.
"It dropped to me so it was easy for me to have a strike. I didn't really have to think about it.
Harry Pell came on as a substitute
"We started to pin them back in their half, Pell came on and had a good influence, Bryon has hit the crossbar.
"I think we probably matched them first half but without that little bit of enthusiasm we had after the goal.
"We've got to get that energy into us like we had for the last 25 minutes because we took the game to Swindon and were the better team in the last 25 minutes."
Purdie felt the penalty decision, leading to Swindon's first goal, was correct.
"Someone has tripped him, we can't have any complaints about that."
