The Bulls entertain Rotherham in a League Two match at Edgar Street on Saturday.
This is only the eighth season the two sides have shared the same division with the Millers still struggling to escape the basement division. Each side has four wins, with six draws, from the meetings so far. Last season veteran striker Paul Warne scored the only goal of the game for the Millers as they won at Edgar Street in a game with nine bookings last August, while the return fixture was goalless in April.
The Bulls have had a 'mini-preseason' with their absence from the FA Cup. Double training sessions were the norm as Peters and Pitman looked to up the workrate of the squad so they could perfect their new tactical plan. After picking up only one draw from five games, the Bulls could be considered to be in another slump, but the nature of their losses to Burton and Crewe suggest that it was only luck that was their undoing and confidence is reported to still be high for better results.
Rotherham come to Edgar Street in 11th place after being hotly tipped pre-season, with their biggest problem being an unsettled defence. A variety of injuries have robbed them of several players leading to a run of just one clean sheet in 17 games. The visit of the Miller is almost a guarantee of goals this season. They have scored more than any other side on the road, and have conceded more than anyone but Plymouth, with a total of 43 goals in their ten away matches so far. Top scorer Lewis Grabban has 13 goals this season, and seven in the last eight matches.
