News Round-Up

Crewe chairman John Bowler says yesterday's move to replace Dario Gradi had been planned for some time. Bowler told the club's official site they wanted the veteran boss in charge of their Academy so that he could develop players and maximise income from the new Premier League enforced compensation rules. Crawley midfielder Hope Akpan has been charged with bringing the game into disrepute over the comments that appeared on his Twitter account.

Darlington have allowed full back Greg Taylor to join Luton on loan until January despite him being a first team regular. It is expected to be the first of several departures as the Quakers look to cut costs. Burton striker Billy Kee has been named the Football League Young Player of the Month for October. The former Torquay man scored five times during the month.

Wrexham's owners say they have made 'some progress' with the much delayed takeover of the club, and have handed over a creditors list to the Supporters Trust for review. Rotherham have extended the loan of defender Jon Harley from Notts County until January. The 32 year old is not eligible for their FA Cup match at Barrow, nor is fellow loan defender Guy Branston.
