Each year the nation expresses its unequivocal support for The Royal British Legion's charity work through the Poppy Appeal, emphasising the need to help all generations of the Armed Forces and their families - today and for the rest of their lives.
So on Saturday Hereford United will be playing its part to help this years Poppy Appeal.
There will be a one minute silence just before the start of the FA Cup-tie against Yeovil Town.
Collections will be made by the Herefordshire branch of the Royal British Legion both inside and outside Edgar Street.
And instead of youngsters from a school or football club, The Bulls will have an extra special guard of honour this Saturday with 34 members of the local Air and Sea Cadets welcoming the two teams onto the pitch.
The Air Cadet organisation provides all young adults from the ages of 13 to 18 with an opportunity to develop a wide variety of skills and the ability to take part in activities that most young people can only dream about.
124 (Hereford City) Squadron and Herefordshire Sea Cadets actively support the Poppy Appeal every year by assisting volunteer collectors with house to house, street collections and manning static points in supermarkets for the two week period of Remembrance tide.
