Hereford United director of football, Gary Peters, has stressed the importance of making Edgar Street a noisy fortress.
"I thought the supporters that travelled to Swindon were magnificent," Peters told the OS.
"They made a noise, they made a difference, they made the players fight for everything, but we need them more at home.
"Edgar Street needs to be a place alive with Hereford noise, it needs to be a place where other teams fear to come, it needs to be a place where we are the masters and we need the supporters more than ever. We need them to raise the roof when we score.
"We know we haven't done well enough at home and it's up to us to make things exciting so they can get behind us."
Bradford City are the visitors to ES on Saturday. Reports suggest they might bring 300 or so supporters with them.
Meanwhile if local schools take up the offer of free tickets, and some supporters return to ES because of Peter's appointment along with a much better performance at Swindon, there's a possibility of a crowd well over 2,500.
