Hereford Times sports editor, Richard Prime, has written a 'sports opinion' column in today's edition in which he backs Jamie Pitman to continue as manager of the Bulls.
Prime, a long-time supporter of the club and highly respected journalist, feels that fans are 'conveniently forgetting' that Pitman's efforts were 'largely responsible' for keeping the Bulls in the League last season.
"Should they get their way and see Pitman follow Simon Davey into the ranks of ex-United managers then what do they think might happen?
"Any potential successor would be likely to come from the ranks of out-of-work managers - out of work because they have been sacked for failing at another club.
"No-one would say that the start to the new season has been anything other than hughly disappointing...but Pitman has rescued the club once already.
"Now is the time for all fans to put their collective weight behind Pitman as he attempts to lead that revival."
Meanwhile former manager Colin Addison has also backed Pitman to continue as manager.
"He has good experience around him in Russell Hoult and Richard Sneekes while Ian Rodgerson and John Layton are there to back him up.
"He needs some tightening up in defence and he needs some goals, but it can be done and Jamie can do it."
