Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman thought his side were very good for sixty minutes in last night's friendly against Bolton.
"We competed well," Pitman told Richard Prime. "But then their quality shone through.
"We showed some great quality. The lads have done exactly what we asked them to do."
Pitman thanked Bolton for coming to play the friendly.
"I hope they appreciated that the pitch was in good condition and I hope they got something out of it."
Pitman put on his number eight shirt and came on as a sub for the last ten minutes.
"I enjoyed it but it gets very difficult when you get to our age to compete.
"I'm glad I got the chance and glad I touched the ball a couple of times.
"It was a great occassion and I thank everybody for turning up."
Looking forward to this coming season Pitman was cautious.
"It's going to be a tough one. It's another transition year for us. We've still got a lot to make up and a lot of hard work ahead of us."
