The Bulls entertain Morecambe in a League Two match on Saturday looking to claim their first points of the season.
The two sides have met 28 times in 14 seasons, with the draw being the most common result. That was the outcome in April when the Bulls travelled to the Lancashire coast and came back with a 1-1 draw thanks to a Steven Leslie goal. The Bulls won the reverse fixture 2-1 with Joe Colbeck and Michael Townsend scoring.
The Bulls will look to progress with some League points after dumping League One side Brentford out of the Carling Cup in midweek. Yoann Arquin's goalscoring cameo has seen fans call for his inclusion in the starting XI for the weekend, and there is likely to be at least one change with Michael Townsend available again after his suspension. The former Cheltenham man is expected to return to the centre of defence with Ryan Green returning to full back, however it will be harsh on Rob Purdie to lose his place after strong performances in Green's usual role.
Morecambe come to Edgar Street under new boss Jim Bentley in a similar position to the Bulls. The Shrimps also lost their opening fixture 1-0 before beating a higher-graded side in midweek. Experienced striker Phil Jevons missed the midweek game but should be fit for Saturday, leaving Bentley with the decision whether to recall him or stick with the pairing of Danny Carlton and Lewis Alessandra, who turned down the Bulls in the summer for geographical reasons.
Hereford United vs Morecambe, Edgar Street, Saturday 13th August, 3.00pm.
