Jamie Pitman had the courage to face the press after tonight's 4-0 defeat. The Hereford United manager felt that the game could have been so different if the referee had given a penalty in the second minute of the game when Stuart Fleetwood appeared to be brought down by the Macclesfield keeper.
"At the end of the day if the keeper comes out and he affects Stuart somehow, then it's a penalty.
"As far as I'm concerned he touched him. Why did he go down?
"It is not as though he dived or anything like that. He's gone down. In the end he ends up getting thrown to the floor. The ball was going in the goal."
Pitman is hopeful he can turn things around.
"We're like a bottle of lemonade at the moment. Once it goes pop I think we'll be very good.
"But we've got to make it go pop."
