Plymouth have signed Hull midfielder Will Atkinson on a season long loan. The 22 year old has made over 50 appearances in five seperate loan spells, but has played just half a dozen times for the Tigers. Northampton are set to loan midfielder Ryan Gilligan to Newport. The 24 year old was told earlier in the summer his future lay away from Sixfields.
Scottish lower league clubs are destitute, according to Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall. Attendances in the SPL have been dropping by 100,000 a season for the last six years, with clubs increasingly reliant on selling players to English sides to keep afloat.
