News Round-Up

Mansfield walked out of their friendly with Ilkeston last night after having three players severely injured by the same Ilkeston man. Striker Gary Ricketts, who played against the Bulls for Hucknall in the FA Trophy, was blamed for leaving defenders John Thomson, Richie Sutton, and Martin Riley in A&E for a variety of challenges that left Thomson and Riley requiring stitches and Sutton with a suspected dislocated shoulder. Manager Paul Cox pulled his side out after a 68th minute challenge saw Thomson barged into the dugout with blood pouring from his face.

Morecambe have applied for permission to hold concerts at their new Globe Arena home. However enviromental health officers have objected after complaints about noise from neighbours to the new ground, including complaints of noise on matchdays. Cheltenham have loaned youngster Kyle Haynes to Salisbury for three months. The 19 year old made just one senior appearance for the Robins last term.

Aldershot have named former Bull Darren Jones as their new Club Captain. Plymouth are expected to sign striker Warren Feeney later today after he agreed to a termination to his deal with Oldham yesterday. The 30 year old was due to agree a season long loan to Home Park before the settlement. Port Vale are claimed to have told the local press they would offer cut-price tickets to their match with Crawley this weekend if fans abandonded their planned protest against the board.
