Port Vale's (barely) civil war continues with elected director Mark Sims accusing the remaining board members of failing to co-operate with him. In a statement for the OneValeFan website he says the directors have all gone on holiday, as has the club's financial controller. In response, Micky Adams has denied being a puppet for the board. He claims his move to become a director is purely to allow the club to sign players, saying that the Football League won't even sanction contract extensions to three existing players as they have no functioning board.
Bristol Rovers are claimed by Sky Sports to be interested in Shrewsbury striker Matt Harrold. The lanky ginger frontman scored nine goals for the Shrews last term. Pirates boss Paul Buckle has played down suggestions that Jamie Cureton may return to the club. Aldershot have signed Farnboro striker Bradley Bubb on a two year deal. The 24 year old scored 40 goals in 88 games for the Conf South side, but has never played any higher.
Torquay are to interview up to five candidates for their vacant managerial job. They hope to make an appointment by Monday, with former Brentford striker Nicky Forster now the bookies' favourite. Conf South side Farnboro have announced they will go full time for the coming season, but have also cut the budget from last season when they finished second before losing in the play-offs.
Rotherham have parted company with coaches Andy Liddell and Nicky Eaden, and chief scout Graham Brown. Liddell brought Eaden to the club while he was caretaker boss after Ronnie Moore's departure, while Brown has taken a similar role with Notts County.
