Preview: Gillingham vs Bulls

The Bulls travel to Priestfield Stadium on Saturday to take on Gillingham in a League Two match.

The two sides are paired in the same division for the first time in 15 years and results have continued on the same track. August's goalless draw at Edgar Street was the fourth successive League draw between the sides, with the Bulls unbeaten in six League encounters. The Gills did win an FA Cup match in that time, when Steve Butler's goal gave them a 1-0 win at Priestfield in November 1996.

After a painfully slow start, Andy Hessenthaler has dragged his side up into the play-off spots and the Gills are currently on a 13 match unbeaten run stretching back to a loss to runaway leaders Chesterfield. In the last couple of games they've needed late goals to come from behind, with Sunday's win at Cheltenham coming from being 1-0 down with five minutes left. On loan Norwich striker Cody McDonald has 22 goals, including five in the last four matches, while the solid Adebayo Akinfenwa has ten.

The Bulls will be seeking to make things right following their 4-0 collapse at Accrington. With the match being the third of four games in nine days more changes are expected. The last two dabbles with a 4-4-2 formation have brought about 4-0 defeats, so Jamie Pitman may look to switch back to the 4-5-1 layout that brought four points from two matches.

Gillingham vs Hereford United, Priestfield Stadium, Saturday 2nd April, 3.00pm.
