Silly Fouls Lose Games said Pitman

In his post match interview Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman admitted that the Bulls lost to the better team on the day but silly fouls by his players didn't help.

"We knew it was going to be a very tough game," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "We would have taken a point if offered beforehand.

"At 1-0 we huffed and puffed. But if you concede after two minutes you're not giving yourselves a chance.

"Again it's silly fouls that we needlessly give away. You keep doing that and you put yourselves under pressure.

"At 1-0 we might have well nicked something and got a point but their second goal killed it and the third one was just silly again.

"Bury played very well and maybe this (defeat) was something we needed to realise that we are still in a dog fight with the rest of them."

Kenny Lunt and Harry Pell were subbed during the second half, both had been booked.

"We didn't want Kenny or Harry to be booked again. Harry started to get a little bit frustrated with the game as it was going."

Reminded by Keith Hall that the Bulls away record is much better than the home one, Pitman said that they want to win at home.

"We seem to be a bit more disclipined away from home.

"And I said to the boys you can not turn it on and off like a tap. You have to do it every week."

Hall then questioned the loyalty of the Hereford United supporters given the home form. Some left early this afternoon.

"We've just been beat by a team that are second or third in the League. We've been on a run where we've only lost two in twelve games.

"If people think it's going to be turned so quickly, they are totally naive. It's not going to happen.

"We are down there for a reason and we need everybody, the fans, the support of everybody around the football club. Otherwise we're all going to be in trouble."
