Results Round Up

Accrington beat Burton 3-1 to increase the jitters at the Pirelli Stadium in tonight's League Two matches.

The Brewers remain four points behind the Bulls, but with only two games in hand, and their participation in the end of season scramble seems more likely with just two wins in 13 games since the turn of the year. Macclesfield picked up a late point with a 1-1 draw with ten man Lincoln, in front of just 1,067, to move two points clear of the Bulls.

At the top Bury lost at home to Torquay 2-1 to remain ten points short of Chesterfield with only one game in hand. Torquay move within a point of the play-offs. Crewe beat Southend 1-0 to keep within touching distance, but the Shrimpers are looking out of the promotion race. In the other game Stevenage won 2-1 at Oxford to leave both sides needing results in their favour to move close to seventh place.

In the Conference Crawley survived an early scare to beat Hayes and Yeading 5-2 and are now six points clear at the top. Luton could only get a goalless draw at Cambridge to retake third, while Rushden's game with Grimsby was called off due to fog with the Diamonds 2-1 up. Forest Green lost 2-1 at Altrincham.

At the foot of League One Plymouth took 130 hardy souls to Carlisle for their 1-1 draw. They are now one of three sides, with Bristol Rovers and Swindon, on 33 points at the foot of the table but have played more games than all but Walsall, who are three points better off.
