Reaction from Southend

Early reaction from both managers at Roots Hall.

Southend boss Paul Sturrock said: "I'm pleased for both the lads.

"But if we'd played this way in the last few games we'd still be in with a real chance of the play-offs."

Crawford put Southend ahead on 36 minutes before Corr struck in the 65th and 67th minutes.

Hereford chief Jamie Pitman said: "We made silly errors for the goals and it cost us.

"We had our chances early on as well but we just didn't take them.

"At 2-0 we just lay down and died, which was very disappointing."

Pitman also spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester: "If you make silly mistakes like we did throughout the course of the game then you are going to get punished against a decent side.

"Probably contained it as much as possible first half with going on the break a couple of times. Maybe should have got something out of those.

"But you can't give the goals away, the first goal was an error and then look at the rest of them and they're all errors.

"We are a good enough side to get out of it [the relegation fight] and I have the players to do it. We have 40 points and need to get another 10 as soon as we can, but the games are getting chalked off quickly."
