Torquay have issued a statement admitting to playing an unregistered player in last night's match with the Bulls.
Suggestions are that either Craig Stanley or Jake Robinson was not correctly correctly registered to play in last night's game, and that it was not until after kick-off that anyone at the club noticed.
The statement reads:
TORQUAY United have informed the Football League of an incident relating to Tuesday night's match with Hereford United at Plainmoor.
The club was alerted to the fact an unregistered player had taken the field after kick-off and we have voluntarily offered our explanation to the Football League.
We are now waiting for a response from the Football League and, as such, we will be unable to make any further comment at this time.
UPDATE 5pm: According to Sky the player is Jake Robinson who is on loan from Graham Turner's Shrewsbury.
