The Bulls entertain Macclesfield on Tuesday night for another Kids for a Quid match at Edgar Street.
The two sides should have met in December but for the weather, and face each other for the first time this season with the return fixture scheduled for the final day of the season. The Bulls have lost two of their three home games against the Silkmen, suffering a 2-0 reverse at Edgar Street last season in the wake of Keith Alexander's death. Alan Connell has scored the only Bulls goal against the Silkmen at home, earning a 1-0 win in September 2006.
The Bulls will look to recover from a poor performance against Lincoln with three points against a side that has slipped into the danger zone in recent weeks. A reshuffled midfield on Saturday puzzled more than a few Bulls fans with both Kenny Lunt and Nicky Featherstone left on the bench. Tuesday sees the re-opening of the transfer window with supporters still calling for a replacement for the Beast with youngster Jake Jervis struggling to cope with the physical nature of some lower league sides.
The Silkmen have, after a reasonable start to the season, slowly drifted towards their expected home near the foot of the table. They have earned just two points from the last 24 and have conceded four goals in each of the last two matches. Top League scorer is Tyrone Barnett with seven. The 6ft 3in former Hednesford man is in his first League season, while Algerian midfielder Hamza Bencherif has six.
Hereford United vs Macclesfield Town, Edgar Street, Tuesday 8th February, 7.45pm.
