Despite spending heavily on the playing surface over the summer, Accrington are reporting further problems with their pitch.
While the Bulls make the trip on Saturday to the Crown Ground, Stanley face Shrewsbury there tomorrow night with the pitch looking like a bit of a lottery. They spent £70,000 digging up and levelling the pitch in a bid to play passing football, but drainage issues have not been resolved and the club have called contractors back in to deal with their soggy surface.
Assistant boss Jimmy Bell told the Lancashire Telegraph: "They are working on the pitch and hopefully they can do something because the drainage is a concern.
We are probably one of only one or two clubs in the division that want to play the right way and the pitch isn’t helping us do that at the moment. We'll leave it to the experts and they are working on it, but it is something that needs sorting urgently."
There is no further rain forecast for the area before Saturday's match.
