In an interview recorded for Bulls Player, Hereford United vice-chairman Tim Russon has admitted that the club must go forward off the pitch as well as on it.
"We've got to go forward, because we've got to compete with all the other clubs." said Russon.
"If we sit still we will not survive.
"I think what has happened over the past ten or fifteen years is that in that time every other club has overtaken Hereford.
"There are lots of clubs with bigger budgets spending more on their grounds, more on their teams, more on their players and we've now try and play catch-up.
"Getting the leases back is a huge thing for the future because without those leases Hereford were going nowhere. Simple as that. Hereford could not build a new stand. We had to have the leases back in our possession.
"Now we can think about pulling in commercial developers, some partners and try and explore ways of taking the club forward.
"The long term debt has been wiped out. That's a crucial piece of business for the club.
"We'll be doing everything we can to try and bring fresh investment into the club."
