Quinn to Referee at Bradford on Saturday

Peter Quinn from Cleveland is set to referee Saturday's League Two match at Bradford where Hereford United will be the visitors.

It is only the second time Hereford United will have met Quinn who was promoted to the National Group of Referees at the beginning of last season.

The first time was at Accrington last April, a game the Bulls won 2-1 with both goals being scored by Gavin McCallum.

However Quinn didn't please the 120 or so Hereford supporters just after half-time.

Within a minute of the re-start, Accrington were level courtesy of a very dubious penalty award from referee Quin. The ball was played into the United box and popped up off the uneven surface striking Valentine on the arm. The Ref pointed to the spot and Symes duly despatched the ball passed Bartlett. Darren Jones continued to voice his disapproval at the decision and was cautioned for dissent.

Quinn also booked Mathieu Manset.

Manset collected a card for a high boot, which was, frankly, comical considering the battering he had received from the opposition back division during the game.

To date this season Quinn has been in charge of 10 games in which he has given out 29 yellow and 1 red card.
