In a week that has seen Hereford United regain the leases to Edgar Street, spare a thought for Mansfield Town who this morning woke up to find they had been locked out of their ground Field Mill.
The owner of Field Mill is Keith Haslam's Stags Ltd - some Hereford United may remember the last time Mansfield played at Edgar Street there was a protest by their supporters against him - and he leases the ground to John Radford who owns the club.
It appears that Radford has not paid any rent to Haslam for several months. But he has had talks with Haslam about buying the ground.
In the meantime, Radford, reputedly a millionaire, has offered to pay the rent to a third party pending an investigation into certain matters pertaining to Stags Ltd. It's been suggested that some monies may have been illegally or inappropriately removed from the football club.
Mansfield are now looking for a temporary home to enable them to play their home fixtures.
