VAT'S the Reason

There can't be many football supporters who don't know that VAT will rise from 17.5% to 20% in January. As yet many clubs are still to decide whether to increase match days prices to take account of the extra tax.

However Yeovil are pushing up matchday prices way in advance of the VAT increase.

All ticket prices at Huish Park will rise by £1.

"We cannot afford to absorb the rise in the VAT rate imposed by the Treasury," said Chief Executive Martyn Starnes.

As yet Hereford United haven't said what they might do about the VAT rise.

However with the team undefeated in their last six games, there might be a case for selling a half-season ticket which as long as it was purchased before January would include VAT at 17.5%.
