News Round Up

Accrington have had their transfer embargo lifted after paying a three year old debt to Preston. The £4,500 sum was allowed to lie by Preston's former owners, hence the long delay, but the new regime wanted payment. They can now sign players over their previous 20 man limit. Histon have parted company with manager John Beck after just two games. The parting of the ways comes as the club cannot afford Beck's plans for the club to enter the Football League.

The Conference have signed a TV deal with Premier Sports that will last three years, starting with the Grimsby-Luton match on Sept 4th. 30 games a season will be shown with a revenue-sharing agreement seeing clubs get 50% of the £6.99 monthly subscription once a certain level of subscribers is reached, and allowing the league to sell the advertising slots during the TV programme. Newport's game with Wrexham has been moved to Sept 5th for live coverage.

Rotherham say Tranmere want £100,000 for 33 year old striker Ian Thomas-Moore. The Millers have also made an enquiry for Plymouth forward Rory Fallon but the New Zealand international doesn't want to drop further down the League. Crawley have signed Conf North defender Kyle McFadzean from Alfreton for a six-figure fee. The 23 year old is an England 'C' international.

Mansfield's departed chairman Andrew Perry was voted out rather than opting to resign according to a report from their board. He lost a confidence vote after reneging on an agreement to put £125,000 into the club. The board say current directors have covered £1million of losses since taking over, £500,000 of them for the 08/09 season, and will offer seats on the board to anyone offering to put £100,000 into the club.

Southend say they will decide on trial forwards Izale McLeod and Elvis Hammond in the next two days. Rotherham say they want McLeod to trial with them but he appears reluctant to move north. Port Vale boss Micky Adams was warned he may leave the club if his control of the football side is dimished. Investor Mike Newton has suggested he will seperate the youth side and remove it from Adams' control.

Bury have signed French midfielder Damien Mozika. The 23 year old spent the 08/09 season with Chester and ended up being suspended for breaching club discipline after missing most of the second half of the season. Ex-Bull Lee Mills is about to sign former Wolves man Adam Proudlock for his Bridgnorth Town side. The 29 year old left Grimsby in the summer following their relegation.

Hartlepool's Chief Executive has followed manager Chris Turner out of the door. Russ Green leaves after eight years with the club, bolstering rumours of an imminent takeover. Former Bulls boss John Trewick is 12/1 to be their next manager, one of the top six names, with current caretaker Mick Wadsworth favourite. Former Southend boss Steve Tilson has instructed a solicitor to recover unpaid wages from the club. He has not been paid since the end of last season, and was promised his contract would be settled when he was sacked.
