Hereford United manager Graham Turner has told the Hereford Times that he would like to add the the squad at Edgar Street.
"We have got to bolster the playing staff before the transfer deadline," said Turner
"I've already made lots of phone calls and I know John (Trewick) had, too."
Turner also told the paper that there had already been 'plenty of interest' in the manager's job which is vacant since John Trewick left the post last Monday.
He confirmed that his role as manager would 'unlikely to be longer than this season and probably shorter'.
"It is something I did not want but it has happened.
"I don't see it lasting longer than this season and maybe not even that long.
"I don't suppose there will be a shortage of applications but we do not intend to advertise the job."
Meanwhile the meeting with Kenny Lunt to sort out his contract has been delayed as the mid-fielder has been ill.
