News Round Up

Bradford have released their third striker this week, with Peter Thorne accepting a pay-off to leave the club early. The veteran ex-Cardiff man had started only four League matches this term due to injuries, but will be offered a coaching role with the club if Peter Taylor stays as manager. The Bantams have signed Hull forward Ryan Kendall on loan for a month as a replacement. The 20 year old is a regular for Hull's reserves, but is yet to make a first team debut.

Lincoln defender Ian Pearce will not play again this season 'unless something dramatic happens' due to a hamstring injury. Port Vale have revealed that Harlequin, the company who are proposed to become a major shareholder in the club, have put £130,000 into the club to keep it running over the last few months. Torquay have made an offer to Histon player Danny Wright, who is one of those frozen out of the club due to contract disputes.

Ten Southend fans have expressed an interest again in buying the club. The group, claimed to be worth £150million, previously offered to buy the club for £1 in exchange for clearing the debt but chairman Ron Martin has not spoken to the group. Football League chairman Brian Malwhinney say a salary cap across all three divisions will happen sooner or later. It currently only applies to League Two, with Championship sides resisting the move.
