Notts County manager Steve Cotterill and Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates has spoken to each other about Hereford's performance at Notts County last Saturday when the Bulls were defeated 5-0.
Yates knows Cotterill well as he was a player at Cheltenham Town when Cotterill was manager.
"He has given me bits and pieces, but I know a lot about Hereford anyway," Yates told this is Gloucestershire.
"They started well against County and it ended as a 5-0 drubbing, but it wasn't like that for the first hour.
"They have a threat about them, but we have to set the tempo and not let them play.
"We need to impose ourselves on the game."
This evening's game is unlikely to have the attendance of the game played last February between the two clubs.
Admittedly on a Saturday, the game attracted 4660 through the turnstiles with an excellent following of 1295 Hereford fans.
