Trewick - I'm Very Very Pleased

Hereford United manager John Trewick said he was 'very very pleased' with today's 1-0 win over Torquay.

"The spirit and determination of the players in the last couple of games has been excellent," Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "A lot of hard work has gone into it.

"We had to dig in in the second half today on times because they were throwing everything at us which you would expect they would - being 1-0 down and playing a side not far above them. But we held on.

"They hit the post with a header which was a chance for them but apart from that I'm not sure they had too many clear cut chances.

"I thought we should have been more than one up at half-time. Another day we might have been but to go in 1-0 at half-time was acceptable.

"We couldn't build on it but we rolled up our sleeves and kept a good shape. We defended in the main very very well.

"So it's good to get the three points and makes the League look a little bit healthier. But we have to sustain what we are doing and get as many points as we can as quickly as we can.

"Gavin McCallum has come in with a bit of freshness and a bit of energy and James McQuilkin the same, done very well. Tyler Weir and Paul Downing, both players with things to prove. They've all done very well."
