Former Hereford United winger Simon Johnson is having a trial at Burton Albion.
He played for the Brewers reserves last Tuesday.
"Simon was a child prodigy at Leeds but the high expectations they had of him did not materialise," noted Paul Peschisolido, the Burton manager.
Since leaving Edgar Street Johnson, now 26, had a three month spell at Bury. More recently he has played for for Halesowen Town in the Zamaretto Premier League.
