Set Pieces were the Difference - Trewick

Hereford United manager John Trewick admitted that not dealing with set-pieces was the main difference between the two teams at Shrewsbury today. However he also felt the Bulls deserved a penalty for hand ball.

"We made a real good game of it," Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "Set pieces were the difference.

"They were more agressive and determined in those key areas today and we've suffered from it.

"I thought we tried as much as we could, second-half we took the game to them for maybe 20/25 minutes.

"Had we got a goal at that time, Marc Pugh had a chance, then who knows.

"But they got a third with another set-piece which was disappointing and the game was just about finished then.

"Leon finished well, it couldn't have been a better start. Then there was a little flurry of corners which put us under a bit of pressure and they managed to force in a couple of goals.

"You have to give credit to them, the delivery was good and the way they attacked the ball was good and I'm sure they will think it's a job well done.

Trewick then spoke about a possible penalty for the Bulls.

"It looked like a hand-ball. I'm a long, long way from the incident but it certainly looked like a hand-ball. His hands were in a raised position.

"It's little things like that that change matches, refereeing decisions. They've got the breaks today, we haven't. It probably was a hand-ball but not given. Key incidents like that turn matches.

"I thought it was a good atmosphere today, plenty of noise. I thought we gave people something to shout about."
