Kick-off being held up for five minutes as a dog evaded the Aldershot defence was the highlight of today's 2-0 win at Edgar Street.
Whatever the canine did to the Shots back four, it worked. They proceeded to gift the points to the Bulls with two horrific pieces of defending. Firstly they left Gavin McCallum alone to prod home a loose ball, then Chris Blackburn turned a Marc Pugh cross into the net to round out a display that was barely worthy of League football from both sides.
Another low gate of 1,576, with 212 Shots, was thoroughly glad to hear the final whistle and end a contest that was limited in skill, and farcical enough to involve a dog and the refereeing of Jock Waugh. At least the Bulls are up to 16th, 14 points clear of Grimsby and the drop zone and just 11 from the play-offs - and if the Shots are play-off contenders then so are we!
Full report later.
