Tony James has spoken of his decision to stay with Burton Albion after receiving an offer from Hereford United to return to Edgar Street.
"I didn't have long left on my contract so I enquired with the gaffer before Christmas to see if I was going to be offered a renewal," say James as reported on the Burton OS.
"It's taken just over a month to sort something out so I've had to wait a little time but the gaffer's been busy over Christmas time so things just took a little while to get sorted out.
"I've been in good form and playing well. I think when your looking for a new contract it's important to be in good form. As you get a bit older you tend not to get long contracts as well.
"I really enjoy being here. It's a bit of a different situation for me because of the travel but I enjoy being here with the lads and I'm really enjoying the way things have been going this season."
Meanwhile it has been confirmed that James has signed an extension to his contract which will see him stay with Burton until the end of next season.
