Northampton are the latest to slash season ticket prices, with adult season tickets on sale for just £199.
This compares with this season's price of £350 - and the club are offering a week's free holiday, room only, to those taking up the deal that expires in March. The deal is the latest attempt to halt sliding attendances at Sixfields, where gate figures have dropped by 1,000 on last season and 1,700 on their 2006 peak.
Just hours before announcing this offer, chairman Dennis Cardoza warned fans that budgets would be cut again at the club if the trend continued. He told the press: "At the moment we're still having to put significant amounts of money in and we have to ask ourselves how long we're going to throw money into a black hole?"
Bradford were the first to offer discounted season tickets across the board. They attracted 12,000 season ticket holders with a £138 ticket but have failed to hold onto the additional fans as prices have slowly creeped back up, losing nearly 2,000 this season so far.
